Testpoint pads are placed into the PCB layout database to allow in circuit testing (ICT) by a bed of nails or flying probe tester.
Testpoints have minimum spacing requirements, and are accessible either from one side only, or from both sides, depending on board complexity.
Thoughtful specification and placement of testpoints can make the job of the ICT programmer much easier.
A number of time and labor saving testpoint utilies have been developed here to sharply reduce the cost, and time associated with testpoint placement.
